MILLWORK DRAFTER

Position Type: Fulltime, Exempt

Reports To: Engineering Manager

What you’ll contribute.

  • Prepare detailed shop drawings for custom interior millwork, cabinetry, décor, and signage using Cabinet Vision software

  • Work closely with clients, designers, builders, and architects to review residential design concepts

  • Cut listing and programming components for shop production

  • Work with mill shops, fabricators, and other product suppliers to establish a comprehensive parts list

  • Work closely with Design, Purchasing, and Production manager to source materials and hardware needed for specific job needs

  • Assist with quantity take-offs and clarifying scope in order to generate and qualify new work

 What you bring to the table.

  • Extensive knowledge of cabinet construction and installation methods

  • Cabinet Vision experience preferred

  • Ability to navigate, read and interpret architectural construction documents (drawings and specifications/finish schedule information)

  • Ability to turn architectural concept drawings into working shop drawings.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel

  • Self-starter capable of working with little supervision

  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization

  • Exceptional communicator – capable of conveying complex terminology both written and orally

  • Willing to travel to customer locations (contiguous US) as needed

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, and stand for long periods of time

  • Must be available to work overtime, as required; which includes some weekends and/or holidays.

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening

ESTIMATOR

Millwork, Casework,
Signage & Décor

Position Type: Fulltime, Exempt

Reports To: Estimating Manager

What you’ll contribute.

  • Create detailed estimates and identify scope of work for use in sales, GC, and other vendor RFP’s

  • Quantify all material and labor required from preliminary drawings, sketches, conversations and actual reviews from the field

  • Occasionally calculates delivery and installation costs using established standards

  • Actively pursue and bid projects through established and personally developed channels

  • Using established rapport with customers, follow-up on projects where PDG has potential opportunity to be awarded, and work with management to make pricing adjustments if necessary

  • Ensure timely completion of estimates while addressing change order pricing on active projects

  • Assist in streamlining the hand-off process after a project has been won. This includes working with project managers, purchasers and draftsmen to ensure a successful and profitable project.

  • Take part in post-job reviews for self-performed and subcontracted work to identify cost saving opportunities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with local/regional general contracting, architectural, and vendor firms

What you bring to the table.

  • Minimum 5+ years of Estimating experience

  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff software preferred

  • Must be able to perform under tight deadlines

  • Self-starter capable of working with little supervision

  • Ability to read architectural plans, identify scope of work/dimensional requirements as well as products/material specifications

  • Extensive knowledge of trade construction materials, methods and terminology pertaining to the estimating practices, costs and construction

  • Must be able to visualize what is not apparent and take efforts to mitigate those potential risks.

  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, capabilities, and duration of fabrication hours

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills; exemplary written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk, and stand for long periods of time
